Maybe you have a chair or table which has become a little loose and unsteady? After many years of use the joints may be damaged or the glue used to secure the joints can fail.
When this happens the piece of furniture needs to be carefully taken apart, the joints cleaned to remove the old glue and then repaired where necessary. |
Wood turning |
If you need a table leg repair, or maybe a chair leg repair and the design is rounded, a new one may need to be ‘turned’. This process is done on a lathe.
A broken leg can sometimes be saved by having a new section turned and used to make a repair rather than replacing the whole leg. Replacement wooden knobs, bun feet and furniture legs are all things regularly turned on the lathe. |
Loose and missing veneers can be repaired. From small chips and missing sections to the complete reveneer of a top if necessary. This table was badly water damaged and needed completely reveneering in Sapele veneer with a Teak cross banded edge. Replacing veneer is done by hand the traditional way, using animal glue and a veneer hammer. |
